More Reason for Change

On the news today that Saskatchewan has the highest crime rate in Canada for the ninth straight year and that Saskatchewan's two major cities have the highest (Regina) and third highest (Saskatoon) murder rates in Canada, I'm reminded that it is time for a change in provincial leadership. This is on the heels of yesterday's release that we have the longest surgical wait lists in Canada!

What else is it going to take for people to realize we need to change our government?

  • Why is it that Fiacco gets a free pass on this one?

Doesn't he have more to do with this in combination with the feds then the provincial governments?

Cities enforce and the feds make the laws, correct me if I am wrong?

  • I don't disagree with you Quimby. Fiacco probably deserves some of the blame.

However, so does our provinical government. After all, cities are merely creatures of the provinces.

I'm also not interested in critiquing Fiacco's performance at this point because he is not running for re-election right now, Calvert is.

  • Well when Fiacco is up for re-election, I will expect you to post on the subject in a critical manner.

Since, he has more to do with these stats then Calvert.

The cities smay be "creatures of the province" but provincial interference in enforecement would also be over stepping their bounds. I would gather that this would also garner your criticism.

I have also not heard any policy from your beloved SP on this subject.

  • I don't care to criticize Fiacco because I don't live in Regina. To tell you the truth, I won't pay all that attention, unless I happen to move there by then.

Yes, some might interpret provincial involvement in municipal affairs overstepping bounds, that is an interpretation because according to the constitution, the province can do whatever they want.

No the Sask Party hasn't announced anything. I hope they will but I am not involved in the campaign other than some lowly door knocker sometimes.
